Dear Reader,
Ho Ho Ho. The tree and lights are up. There is no snow and i spent an hour today feverishly looking for an appropriate present for her Majesty in town as her main one bought online has not arrived.
It must be Christmas.
I hope everyone had a stonking year. It has been one of extreme partisanship and macro belief. My calls for the markets have come particularly good and to be honest I see no reason for that not to continue 'a la Yardeni' into first even second quarter 2020.
My New Year's resolution is to write more. I have a comedy novel about the Zombie Apocalypse with a modern twist I am desperate to write - honestly I think it will be very funny if I ever get down to getting it out of my head onto paper.
Next year for me is all about getting my 3 businesses working well. I love wealth management as I can see where great macro options add real topline value and as we enter 2020 I will put extensive effort to see that rewards both me and customers. Part of the fun in doing this job is clients buying my novel approach.. Weirdly I believe that commissions are less important than growing client assets.
Today I bought back into Natural Gas cash for the first time in ages as a macro play. I remain long in wheat cash since I wrote about it in November. Wheat is my BIG macro play for next year apart from traditional financials.
Anyway this is a very brief note to say Happy Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noel, Buon Natale to all.
After I recover from my food coma I will write a lengthy note about markets in review and maybe drill down on some funds.
Best Don King
